Our goal through K-2 is to create an environment that fosters a love of learning. With our limited class sizes, we lay the groundwork for students to feel safe, included, and ready to build the framework for a rigorous academic future.
Students in grades 3-4 are considered intermediate students. We emphasize personal responsibility and effective work/study habits to prepare for the rigors of middle school. Students participate in a block schedule to acclimate to the more segmented structure of middle and high school.
For the middle school grades 5 through 8, students rotate through classes every hour. They utilize Google Classroom, increase digital competencies, and may be eligible for membership in National Jr. Honor Society in Grade 6. They develop the skills required for academic excellence, leading to success in high school.

What’s so special about Akiva? This is a question I’m often asked by parents who are considering Akiva, so let me share some thoughts as to why we are so wonderfully unique:
Akiva provides a values-based education. We teach universal character values in the classroom through our curriculum calendar. Your child will grow, learn how to get along with, and respect a community with others who are different from them.
Our programs are geared toward individual learners. We know that children learn at different rates, so we teach children where they are. Whether it’s more instruction time, re-teaching, or accelerated programs can be provided to enrich your child’s progress through the curriculum.
Akiva has an effective student to teacher ratio. Because of this, your child will feel seen and cared for in their academic environment. We can identify and address any learning anomalies so your child can progress through grades K-8 successfully.
